As a motorsports fan, this is the week I cherish the most…Daytona 500 week. There is all kinds of buzz going on in the world of NASCAR this year, and I’m super excited about it. Many questions are circulating amongst the members of the garage such as,
Will Jimmy Johnson win 5 straight championships?
What will happen to the cars this year?
Will the racing be better than last year?
How will Danica Patrick do if she does race in the lower divisions of NASCAR?
My answers may be different than anyone else, but those questions aren’t really an issue this week. This week, it’s all about enjoying what all NASCAR fans enjoy, racing. The season starts Sunday, and I’m totally excited! I’m so excited, that I’m gonna make some predictions for the racing this week.
1. Someone will wreck in practice.
2. Someone will wreck in the qualifying races.
3. Danica Patrick will show up at the race track, just to watch, and every camera that ESPN owns will be all up in her grill. Let’s remember people, she isn’t the first woman in NASCAR.
4. Jr. won’t win the 500. Sorry folks, ain’t gonna happen. The man needs to up his game if he ever wants to win that championship or all the races he said he was gonna win when he switched to Hendrick motorsports.
5. There will be a big wreck on the last lap of the 500 and take out a bunch of contenders and everyone will get angry.
6. NASCAR’s “We’ll let YOU handle the bump-drafting” rule will change BEFORE the race. NASCAR seems to change the rules whenever they feel like it.
7. It’ll be a good race. And have better commercials than the Super Bowl….seriously, the economy sucks, but come on. Put some money into your advertising. Seriously.
Well…those are my predictions. If anyone out there is a NASCAR, feel free to make your predictions too. And “No one cares about NASCAR” isn’t a prediction. That’s your opinion, and no one cares about your opinion.
