- Thank you Old Dominion and Saint Mary’s for only slightly busting my bracket. Both of you will run into teams in the next round that would have handled the teams you beat today, so I can lose a few points.

- Congrats to the Murray State Racers, with your last-second victory over Vanderbilt you proved how mixed the good mid-major teams and the good major-conference teams are in this year’s tournament in addition to winning your 31st game of the season. You know, Kentucky won 32 (33 after the eventual domination of ETSU) and where is Murray State located? Hmm…

- I swear, if Georgetown falls to Ohio… just fill in the blank.

- Villanova’s performance against the Patriots of Robert Morris just calmed my nerves of riding Baylor to the Final Four out of the East.

- Oh, and congrats to Jacksonville U. and Mississippi State on their first round NIT wins. One showed that the A-Sun conference has the capability to be reckoned with, and the other showed why they belong among the field of 65 instead of teams like say Wake Forest or Florida?

It’s only day one of the tourney though, so I’m sure many a talking point, upset, and stellar season circle the drain occur before the weekend’s end (I’m staring right at you Cornell/Temple, Mich. St./NMSU, and Purdue/Siena).

As is the norm, the hardwood isn’t the only thing that is on my mind. If you have listened to The Athletic Alternative before, you know that myself, TheDaveJohnson, and The Narrator enjoy talking about professional wrestling just as much as we enjoy talking baseball and football. If you’re a wrestling fan yourself, you know that Wrestlemania 26 is coming up on the 28th, and the crew at TAA want to share the viewing experience of this megashow with you!

Yes, we’re hosting The Athletic Alternative’s Wrestlemania 26 Party-Bash! We’re inviting our fans to come out and watch Wrestlemania with us and share in the experience. Atlanta punk rockers The Bitter End will be playing a live set on Shenanigans this Wednesday July 1st around 7:30 PM. This is not one you want to miss!! They’ll be playing next Wednesday the 8th at the Drunken Unicorn.

Zach Cregger and Trevor Moore, stars of the sketch comedy show The Whitest Kids U’Know and the new movie Miss March (in theatres March 13th), will be guests on the show talking about their flick. 

Tune in Tuesday Morning from 8:30-12:30 for the crazy awesome commentary and insanity of Wenk, Gerb, and Nix with the interview in the last hour.

It will be 100 times better than jello pudding!

Austin Kyle will be on the Local Music Show this Friday around 3pm. He’ll be performing throughout most of the show.
