(It’s The Mermaids!)
Went to a party and saw The Mermaids! They were auhmazin’ and great to dance to! They sound
like… ” Christmas on th ebeach on mushrooms summoning the devil from the depths of the jungle
on acid.” As quoted from their Myspace page. They are currently unsigned, but I have a feeling
they are going to make it big very soon!
They have only been together for about 8 months and have put together some killer songs, which you
must check out… HERE!
I was also able to interview them, I’m editing the video right now, and should have it up some time
later tonight! So keep checkin’ in.

Violet and I have been havin’ a blast so far! I have 2 jobs, and we are both certified life guards!
Woo here comes the money rollin’ in. So we recently went to this party that had Nadia Marie
and the Valentines playing. They were great I loved em! So I’m sure any of my listeners out there
will love them too. She has an amazing voice, and some of the chords.. reminded me of Interpol. Check
em out for yourself and tell me what you think!!

I’ve been listening to Discovery (photographed above to the right) throughout winter break. I was hooked from just listening to them ONCE.. they are that amazing. Their up beat music is some what comparable to Pretty Lights…but after listening to them for a couple of weeks straight the two bands in comparison have entirely different sounds. Discovery has a lot more lyrics, and to me seems a little more main stream… only because one of the band members is from Vampire Weekend.             Speaking of Vampire Weekend.. they just released a new CD. I must say their new album, Contra, is much more energetic than their last. And since I like to dance… Im going to have to say that Contra takes the cake.    		 Pocahaunted (Photographed above left)

1! Vests
You’ll see lots of faux fur collars and animal skin fabrics, as the tribal trend appears to be here to stay. But that’s not all – there will be a lot of tailored, contemporary looks.
2@ Skinny jeans
Skinny jeans have been hot for several seasons now, but now skinny pants are big as well. You’ll continue to see leggings and tights. It’s part of a trend leaning toward sleek, slim and streamlined.
3# Pleated tops
I love this trend because it’s GREAT for us girls who don’t have a lot going on up there – but it works for those of you who do, too. The accordion pleat neckline is feminine, new and pretty much universally flattering.

4$ Military jackets
We can blame it on Michael Jackson tributes, but it was actually on the way back before he passed. The military look – jackets, vests, even pants – is a huge fall wardrobe staple. 

My personal favorite shopping destination, Loehmanns, says they are noticing several distinct looks from their top designers this fall.
