You'd scream too if you had a wad of hot tar in your ear.

Hibernation seems to be the next career move for “Nine Inch Nails”, but not until putting together an alternative wetdream project of nostalgic poetry. News leaked days earlier that “Jane’s Addiction”, original line up and all, were back together and have a new album in the works…..produced by Trent Reznor. Oh yes, read twice and nod true my friends.

Around 20 years ago, “Jane’s” was at the forefront of the alternative movement that was beginning to storm through into mainstream success from the underground. With their touring, they chose a small up and coming group from Cleveland that was taking the industrial rock world by storm as their opening act: “Nine Inch Nails”. On nin.com, Reznor reflects positively on that experience, noting the historical place they were making in American music.

As such, NIN will go on tour again this year, with noneother than “Jane’s Addiction” filling the opening set. For fans of alternative rock, this tour is huge. NIN is slated to perform at the Bonnaroo festival this year, but no dates have been set for the tour.

Alas, this news comes a like Belgian chocolateer’s best; a beautiful, shiny wrapping that within lies a bittersweet concoction. Reznor has also announced this tour will be the “bon voyage” for NIN, stating that the group,”….needs to disappear for awhile”. Many have interepted this as an official two weeks notice and that Reznor will be shelving his mascara forever. I, however, don’t believe this to be so. NIN is way too ingrained into Reznor’s being for him to forever put the project behind him, and not in some way release material, though infrequent, here and there through the years. Fans will remember the 6 year hiatus he took between the release of “The Downward Spiral” and “The Fragile”. Even being one of my most cheerished and enjoyable groups of all times, I’m supportive if NIN needs to come off the tracks for awhile, be for creative reasons or just so the human beings that have pulsed musical genius into my ears for year can just live and not be musicians for awhile. Til then, I know I speak for all the fans when I say we fondly await your return, Trent, and wish you the best.

Beard isn't doing much for Joaquin's music career either...

I’m taking up arms with my fellow dj, Andrew: Fred Durst must die. Rollingstone.com reported yesterday that Limp Bizkit is in talks to launch another attack on the senses of music fans, reminding them the hatred attached to red caps and white guys with “fresh from the hood” diction. Of all people to announce this, the one true glimmer of talent to arise from Limp Bizkit, was guitarist Wes Borland. Now, here’s where I have a problem…..

Borland quickly established himself as a soldier of fortune in the music world, with a guest appearance list whose length began to rival Bill O’Reily’s “Preschoolers I’ve run over with my Patriot Chariot a.k.a My black hummer” list. Anyways, realizing he was indeed the only thing that could fairly label itself “salvagable” from Limp Bizkit, left to pursue his own artistic endeavors, stating he could never work with Durst again and all the flame chatter that comes with a disgruntled exit. In a nutshell, Borland, with his newfound free time, continues to hone his painting skills *badass stuff, btw”, and formed his own industrial-lite rock group “Black Light Burns”. Durst spreads rumors of how he’s banging Britney Spears and tries to write a children’s book. Yep……

All fighting to smell his finger

Pearl Jam will be reissuing their landmark debut album “Ten” for a March 24th release this year, with 4 different special edition sets. Ranging from a double disc Legendary Edition to the grandaddy Super Deluxe Version, consisting of 2 CDs, a dvd of the MTV Unplugged performance, a number of LPs and ,my personal favorite, a replica cassette of the band’s “Momma Son” demo tape. Brendan O’Brien, who produced 4 Pearl Jam albums including “Ten”, will also oversee a remix album. Rolling Stone has reported this is just one of many reissues the band has lined up as they approach their 20th anniversary in 2011.
