Destination Prestige wishes all ladies a Happy Valentine’s Day. Turn Your Lights down Low, and let your heart love and be loved. Let your heart enjoys someone telling it I love you. Do not, for any reasons, close your heart to the smell of flowers, and warm of arms around you today. No matter what you are going to, stop and love someone today. Just say like this quote, “If I have to choose between loving you, and breathing. I would use my last breath to say I love you.”
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

According the United Nations and their partners on the ground, emergency relief supplies are flowing smoothly in Haiti.
The UN humanitarian agency (OCHA), says there is a need to increase the provision of sanitation facilities and provide some 25,000 toilets for half a million people in the capital, Port-au Prince.
On the nutrition front, the World Food Program has given food assistance to more than 1.6 million people in and around the capital.
“The agencies working on shelter, of which there are about 55 at the moment, are essentially racing to get some shelter up before the rains start. It has actually already started raining and obviously the situation is extremely urgent.” Organization like Habitat for Humanity International is working to help build Haiti. We are all invited to volunteer with habitat International. For those who do not know already, there is a campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity at Kennesaw state University. For all volunteer questions, go to student’s life office and ask about Campus Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, or contact Destination Prestige at www. destinationprestige@gmail.com

According to UN Radio that we have listen to this morning, Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade is reported to have said that Haitians are the sons and daughters of Africa because the country was founded by slaves including some believed to have come from Senegal. The country’s envoy to the United Nations Ambassador Paul Badji tells UN Radio that the tragedy in Haiti is not only a tragedy for the people of the Caribbean country but also for the people in Africa.”So, we want to open our hands and make this offer. If Haitians agree to come to Africa we are ready to receive them. My President said it, we are ready to give them one region of our continent for them to live and develop their own activities to become part of the African people.”
Love is all we need.
The spontaneous mobilization for Haiti
This year started with some really bad news. After the attack of the Togolese football team in Angola, an Earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale has visited Haiti, the poorest nation in the western hemisphere. The image of the disaster is not easy to watch. A week later, the international community is struggling to deal with the situation despite all the mobilization coming from everywhere. Destination Prestige wants to recognize different groups on the campus of Kennesaw State University: International Students Association, Habitat for Humanity, the KSU Chapter, and all Recognized students Organizations. The mobilization is spontaneous, volunteer, and helpful. Destination Prestige is proud to say bravo for you have done, even though there are more that needed to be done to give more Hope to Haiti. Just like the former President, Bill Clinton said, “Haiti is not doomed. If we rally around them now and support them in the right way, the Haitian people can reclaim their destiny.” Love is all we need.

I was hoping to start this New Year 2010 with good news from Africa, but, it does not happen. I am in shock as well as the rest of the world to hear that a National Soccer team from Togo, West Africa, was attacked on its way to the Africa Cup of Nations competition in Angola. What could possibly be the reason a nation soccer team be attacked? In case of country like Togo, the team is the only pride it has. The team is the only that transcends the political cleavages in the country. At least two are dead and several wounded; however the national shock in Togo is indescribable. Destination Prestige will spend its first hour Wednesday the 13 January, 2010 debating the event with guests from all over the world.

A leader of the separatist faction that claims the attack told Radio France International that “the attack took place because the competition is taking place in the disputed Cabinda region.” So it is that enough reason to attack another country national team? I do not think so. All I know is that it is time for African to find different way of solving political issues; weapon is not always the answer.

A new year equals new form of Destination Prestige. In this year, our production will focus on four different programs:

Our first focus is to involve different high schools, colleges and universities in the city of Atlanta in our interactive French learning project. We will do this with the program “open microphone”, giving students a chance to participate in the show, and also with the production of a module of “easy learning” created by teachers. Our next focus is “the literature debate” that will help to know different francophone writers around the world. For this too, we are making several contacts not only here in Georgia, but also, in New York, Connecticut, France, California, Louisiana, and different African Countries to have access to professors and writers. We want the world to know French-speaking Literature. For music lovers, our monumental producer Jocelyn from France is actively contacting all new artists of francophone world. He will introduce to us every Wednesday a new singer with new songs from around the world. Most importantly, Destination Prestige will be an active part of national and international political and societal debate on topics such as environment, politics, legal, sciences, education, culture, women…etc. We will not be able to this without a blessing of God, and your participation: feedback, support, advises. They all will be appreciated. Destination Prestige wishes you all a Happy New Year and a New Destination with Prestige.

According to a study by US researchers, “allowing these areas to be submerged during storms would reduce the risk of flood damage in nearby urban areas.” We all remember the scary images of flooding here America. Based on the new research, “pressure to build new homes has led to many flood-prone areas being developed. The study said that “the risks of flooding were likely to increase in the future as a result of Climate Change and shifts in land use. I wonder why until now we are still debating whether or not Climate Change is real.
