This past Monday night the Atlanta Falcons hosted Monday night football against the New York Jets. Due to the falcons record of 1-3, this game was a must win being that they had lost their previous two games. Atlanta seemed to start off fast as Matt Ryan connected with running back Jason Snelling on a 4-yard pass for a touchdown. Yet this would be the only first half touchdown scored by the falcons, as Jets quarterback Geno Smith was able to throw two touchdown passes to two different receivers putting the score 17-7 at the half. Falcons Roddy White left the game in the second quarter due to a hamstring pull and did not return.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was determined to get his team back in the game as he lead his team down the field ending in a 4-yard run with running back Jacquizz Rodgers. With the falcons scoring seemed to give Atlanta the momentum yet Jets Rookie quarterback Geno Smith was able to keep his composure by delivering a 10-yard touchdown strike to tight end Kellen Winslow. With one last chance to win the game the Falcons failed to convert on a goal line play at the 1-yard line settling them with three points. With momentum on his side Geno Smith was able to take control of the game as he led the Jets in Atlanta territory ending in a 43-yard field goal by kicker Nick Foles. The loss for the falcons will put them at 1-4 after finishing with a record of 13-3 last year. It also marks the first time the team has loss three straight games since 2007, with hopes of still making the playoffs the falcons have a bye next week giving the team two weeks until there next opponent.
