Rapper Kendrick Lamar released the album cover for the follow-up album to 2013’s classic album Good Kid m.A.A.d. City last week, and the internet has been going crazy. The Compton emcee released the cover on his Instagram account late Tuesday afternoon and has since been confirmed as the album cover by Top Dawg Entertainment’s Anthony Tiffith.

On his Instagram account, Lamar wrote““Don’t all dogs go to heaven? Don’t gangsta’s boogie? Do owl sh!t stank? Lions, Tigers & Bears, But TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY. It’s the American dream ni***….,” –Lil Homie,””

Rolling Stones Magazine confirms that the album will be titled To Pimp A Butterfly and will feature the song, “The Blacker The Berry.” The album is scheduled to release March 23, 2013, and judging from the material that has been released from it so far, it is sure to live up to the hype and standard set by Good Kid n.A.A.d. City.

Update: Kendrick Lamar’s album To Pimp A Butterfly was released a week early via iTunes late Sunday night. The album was originally slated to release March 23, but at one point those who pre-ordered the album on iTunes found an early Christmas gift. The album has since been taken down from iTunes however it is still available to stream on Spotify. Stay tuned for a full review of the album coming soon!
