Imagine this: A 9th grader in high school whose life is the Pop Punk music scene. Band tees and skinny jeans are about 85 percent of their wardrobe. Straightened hair with thick side swept bangs cover their face. The only make up needed is black eye liner.  The brands Vans, Glamour Kills, Converse, and Hot Topic are the only tags seen on clothes and shoes.

I am going to be completely honest and say, yes, I was that kid. It was a time when Pop Punk music meant more than catchy lyrics and tunes but it meant an understanding between artist and listener. The connection between these two things is important to realize in why some may agree with me in saying that the year of 2009 was a good year for this genre of music.

So sit back, get your Alternative Press magazine out, and let’s take a look back to some of the Pop-Punk albums released in the year 2009 and the hit singles that accompanied them.
