GODSDURAQ, known as Munroe outside of his music, is a local artist who is just beginning to make some traction. He started his venture into the music world with a few friends back in high school. At that time, he viewed making music as a hobby, so he did not take it too seriously. However, as soon as he got into college, music making became serious. Thus, the artist known as GODSDURAQ was born. GODSDURAQ draws influences from many artists. Yet, he notes that his biggest influence is Tyler, the Creator. When describing how Tyler, the Creator influences his music, he had this to say. “I kinda absorbed his flow and ear for things on a beat and how I lay my words going into a song.” What sets GODSDURAQ’s music apart is the fact that it can’t be pinned down. According to the artist himself, “I don’t wanna be stamped with a label and have people expect the same thing outta me like from previous songs.” One other interesting aspect that makes GODSDURAQ’s music unique is that his love and devotion for God is present in his music. “I love music and God, so I always have God in my songs, so I try not to curse.” GODSDURAQ currently has one song out on all streaming platforms called “Control Freak.” Expect more releases from GODSDURAQ sometime next year.
