Jason Heyward has won his first Gold Glove as an Atlanta Brave. He is the first since 2007 when Andruw Jones and Jeff Francoeur won them for the Braves. He had a great year in right field and winning the gold glove was no surprise. He is in his third year and won the award this year over players like Jay Bruce of the Reds and Andre Ethier of the Dodgers. He had 11 outfield assists and only five errors all season. For being 23 years old, I can’t wait to see what he does in the future. Besides having Heyward winning the gold glove for the braves; Freddie Freeman, Martin Prado and Michael Bourn were all nominated for the gold glove awards. Hopefully having Heyward improving his out fielding skills, he can better his offense so we can finally make the World Series. But now with this Gold glove under his belt and his name out there, he can prove to step in and hopefully be the captain of the team.
