The wait is over! Dan and Shay’s fourth studio album, “Good Things”, dropped on August 13. This 12 song ode to love certainly covers all the bases from being head over heels to avoiding your ex at all costs then ultimately sticking it to them by showing up with a new girl. At the time of release for this album, it had already given us three top ten hits including the two number ones, “10,000 Hours” and “Glad You Exist”. Their self-titled 2018 album took the world by storm with hits like, “Speechless” and “Tequila”. Since then, they’ve been dropping pieces a little bit at a time with the first being 2019’s “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber. It held the number one spot on the Hot Country chart for 21 weeks, the fourth longest reign in the chart’s history and it also won the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. This song certainly tugs at the heartstrings because who wouldn’t want a partner who would spend “10,000 Hours” loving them. “I Should Probably Go To Bed” was the second single from the album and it peaked at number two. This slow breakup ballad is the complete opposite of “10,000 Hours”. Wanting to avoid an ex at all costs, instead of going out and taking a chance, he opts to go to bed. The third single and latest number one, “Glad You Exist”, has a pretty self-explanatory name. This upbeat, romantic slow jam is the perfect first dance for any couple looking to tie the knot. Overall, this is a fantastic album that breaks country stereotypes and perfectly blends country roots with crystal clear pop overtones.
