For the past two decades, the New York Knicks have been the laughingstock of the NBA. The Knicks were a failure to the fans and the reputation of the franchise. New York is one of the biggest markets for the league, however the “wins” just were not there. The last time this team made the playoffs was in an unsuccessful run with Carmelo Anthony in 2013. Media and sports world continued to voice disappoint in the franchise, but one group remained loyal, the fans.

This season has been a reward to the loyal fans so far. After years of losing, a ray of hope has touched New York. Unlikely heroes like Julius Randle, Immanuel Quickley(rookie), and more players have come together and gotten results. The Knicks have been one of the biggest stories of the season as the new head coach Tom Thibodeau, once again shocks the world with a team that includes Derrick Rose on the roster. Defense and tenacity have led this franchise to once again give fans hope to another playoff run in the eastern conference. For the first time in a while, New York Knicks fans are dancing, shouting, and rejoicing in all types of way throughout social media. Even though Madison Square Garden cannot be at full capacity, the spirit of New York can be felt in the sports world.

This team has many viewers tuning in in disbelief that the Knicks are relevant again. Everyone can’t seem to believe that halfway into the season, the Knicks have the 4th best record in the East, especially without a well-known superstar on the team. Heading into this season, the roster looked decent at best, but almost every player has exceeded expectations, especially Julius Randle. Whether this is a real deal or all a hoax, we’ll have to see. For now it is pretty convincing that the Knicks are back in the picture and taking steps towards winning.
