Lexy Grizzle, a KSU student and dream pop artist, has rolled into 2023 with some buzz. Following her debut album, im not as sad as i used to be, Lexy released her latest single “im sorry i cry” to all streaming platforms. Lexy brings a groovy yet chill vibe to her music that I love, and this newest track was an incredible introduction to her music. Lexy includes beautiful drifting melodies that allow you to lose yourself in your room. The album, an 8-track mashup of mainly bedroom tracks with sprinkles of electronic and acoustic singles, explores Lexy’s journey toward feeling desired, self-awareness, and the ups and downs of emotions. One thing Lexy does so well in this album is bringing darkness to normally dreamy and relaxed instruments, like in “lofi nightmares”. Just one pass through this album brought me so much joy and emotion to me that I have not been able to stop listening. I can hear so many influences in the music and I am in love with all of it coming together, definitely give her music a listen, and be sure to follow her on Instagram.
